I love Youtube! My favorite thing to look for on Youtube is live music performances. If I see a group playing locally that I think I might be interested in seeing, I will go to YouTube and see if they have a live performance of the group. Then I can see if they sound good live.
YouTube is popular for many reasons. Number one is that it is free. Number two is that you can find a little bit of everything there. Number three is that it is easy to use.
Two cool library-related videos that I viewed are : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5Rt3wDunEs (A look at the incredible new children's services department of the Allen County Public Library)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f-X_lhJfoo (The Bookcart Drill Team Competition at the ALA conference in New Orleans)
One of the many ways the library can use YouTube is to look at other libraries without having to actually go there. This will be especially useful in getting ideas for our new library. Also, we can get mural, programming and mascot ideas from other library videos. Lastly, it is a great way to advertise your library.

I didn't know you could do so much with youtube! The first link had an absolutely beautiful library. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in a library before, and I've been to some big libraries in NY and DC. Thanks for the info!
Oh, and the second link didn't work...
